I am a multimedia storyteller with experience in investigative journalism, beat reporting, social media management, and entertainment news. While I write on a variety of topics, my work tends to revolve around the city of Chicago, queer culture, fan activism, and marginalized voices. I am also a skilled copywriter, digital marketing specialist, and productivity coach.
My professional experience includes serving as the editor of Secret Chicago, associate editor of The Jackalope, a staff writer for Hush Comics, and resource coordinator and writer for The Harry Potter Alliance, a non-profit that uses pop culture to teach activism. I have been published by a number of other publications including Wizards in Space, Glyph Literary Magazine, The Denver Post, Calling Upon Calliope and many more. My first collection of creative nonfiction, Interrobang was published in 2017, and explores trauma, addiction, grief, and pop culture analysis.
I have been honored to speak at a number of events and on panels about fan activism and pop culture. My public appearances include SFAI 140, Denver Pop Culture Con, and The Granger Leadership Academy.
